Marantz AV 30 – 11.4-Channel AV Preamplifier / Processor with XLR, 8K and HEOS

The Marantz AV 30 is a high-performance AV preamplifier and processor designed for large-scale home cinema systems and dedicated installations where processing quality, flexibility and the freedom to choose external power amplification are priorities.

Manufactured in Shirakawa, Japan, the AV 30 provides processing for up to 11.4 channels, balanced XLR and RCA pre-outs for all channels, four independent subwoofer outputs, seven 8K-compatible HDMI inputs and comprehensive support for the latest immersive audio and streaming technologies.

11.4-Channel Processing

With processing for up to 11.4 channels, the AV 30 enables sophisticated home cinema systems with multiple surround channels, height speakers and up to four independently managed subwoofers.

As a dedicated AV preamplifier/processor, the AV 30 is designed to operate with external power amplifiers, allowing the amplification to be selected according to the loudspeakers and requirements of each installation.

11.4-Channel RCA and Balanced XLR Outputs

All channels are provided with both RCA and balanced XLR pre-amplifier outputs, offering maximum flexibility when connecting external power amplifiers.

Balanced XLR connections are particularly valuable in high-end systems and installations using longer cable runs, helping to provide greater resistance to interference and noise.

Four Independent Subwoofer Outputs

The AV 30 provides four independent subwoofer outputs, enabling advanced low-frequency integration in dedicated cinema rooms.

Using multiple subwoofers can help achieve a more consistent low-frequency response throughout the room and a more uniform cinema experience across different listening positions.

HDAM-SA2 and Current Feedback

The analogue section uses proprietary discrete Marantz HDAM-SA2 modules together with Current Feedback architecture.

This approach is designed to preserve speed, dynamics and resolution throughout the signal path while maintaining the sonic philosophy associated with Marantz's premium components.

Toroidal Transformer and Copper-Plated Chassis

The AV 30 uses a toroidal power transformer and copper-plated chassis, solutions normally reserved for Marantz's higher-end components.

Its construction is designed to provide stable power delivery while reducing electrical interference between the processor's different sections.

Dolby Atmos

Support for Dolby Atmos enables a three-dimensional sound field using surround and height channels, placing effects and ambience around and above the listener.

The AV 30 also supports Dolby TrueHD, Dolby Surround and Dolby Atmos Height Virtualization.

DTS:X Pro

For DTS content, the AV 30 supports DTS:X and DTS:X Pro, together with DTS-HD Master Audio, DTS Neural:X and DTS Virtual:X.

DTS:X Pro processing allows advanced multichannel configurations to be used in large-scale home cinema systems.

Auro-3D, IMAX Enhanced, MPEG-H and 360 Reality Audio

In addition to Dolby Atmos and DTS:X Pro, the AV 30 supports Auro-3D, IMAX Enhanced, MPEG-H and 360 Reality Audio, providing extensive compatibility with immersive audio formats.

7 HDMI 8K Inputs

All seven HDMI inputs support 8K video and the latest-generation HDMI technologies.

The AV 30 supports 8K/60 Hz and 4K/120 Hz pass-through with bandwidth up to 40 Gbps, making it suitable for high-resolution video sources and modern games consoles.

3 HDMI Outputs and eARC

Three HDMI outputs are provided, including a main output with eARC and a dedicated Zone 2 output.

eARC enables high-quality audio to be received directly from a compatible television through the HDMI connection.

Dolby Vision, HDR10+ and Dynamic HDR

Video processing supports HDR, HLG, Dolby Vision, HDR10+ and Dynamic HDR, preserving the high dynamic range capabilities of compatible video content.

4K/120 Hz, VRR, ALLM and QFT

For gaming, the AV 30 supports 4K/120 Hz, Variable Refresh Rate (VRR), Auto Low Latency Mode (ALLM) and Quick Frame Transport (QFT), providing compatibility with key video features offered by current-generation games consoles and PCs.

Audyssey MultEQ XT32

Audyssey MultEQ XT32 analyses the response of the loudspeakers and listening room using the supplied microphone, automatically adjusting important parameters to optimise system performance.

Audyssey Dynamic EQ, Dynamic Volume and Audyssey LFC are also supported.

Dirac Live Ready

The AV 30 can be optionally upgraded with Dirac Live, providing an advanced alternative for room correction and optimisation of the system's response within the listening environment.

The Dirac Live licence is an optional upgrade and is not included as standard.

HEOS – Streaming and Multiroom

Built-in HEOS enables network music playback, access to streaming services and integration of the AV 30 into a multiroom audio system with other compatible products.

The system supports services including Spotify, TIDAL, Amazon Music, Deezer and other services available through the HEOS platform.

Roon Ready and AirPlay 2

The AV 30 is Roon Ready and supports Apple AirPlay 2, providing multiple options for network music playback and library management.

Hi-Res Streaming

Network playback supports lossless formats including FLAC, ALAC and WAV up to 24-bit/192 kHz, together with DSD up to 5.6 MHz.

Gapless playback is also supported for FLAC, ALAC, WAV and DSD.

Bluetooth Headphone Transmission

In addition to conventional Bluetooth reception, the AV 30 can transmit audio to compatible Bluetooth headphones, providing a convenient option for private listening without a wired connection.

MM Phono Input

A dedicated MM phono input allows a turntable fitted with a Moving Magnet cartridge to be connected directly, integrating vinyl playback into the home entertainment system.

Three Zones and Custom Installation

The AV 30 supports up to three zones and includes extensive custom installation functionality, including IP control, RS-232, Web Control, IR input, Marantz Remote Bus and three DC trigger outputs.
