Power: refined, detailed and in abundance. Rotel's new Class AB stereo power amplifier delivers a nominal output of 350 watts per channel into 8 ohms with both channels driven. We are talking about a lot of power, but both larger listening rooms and speakers with rather low sensitivity will need it to obtain the best possible performance and thus achieve realistic sound dynamics.

The impressive capabilities of this amplifier begin with a very solid foundation consisting of two twin massive toroidal transformers custom made by Rotel. These transformers are just one part of a rock-solid power supply that includes eight special capacitors manufactured by the British company BHC, known for their low losses and extremely fast response times. These components will continue to supply all the voltage and current required even under the most difficult working and loading conditions.

But strength without refinement has never been a design goal at Rotel. Every aspect of the RB-1590's circuit design has been carefully considered and each component has been rigorously selected through intensive listening sessions. The circuit topology used is double monophonic in order to ensure maximum separation between channels and improve the stereophonic image.

Features worth highlighting also include the following: balanced (XLR connectors) and unbalanced (RCA connectors) input connections, box connection terminals with pentagonal nuts, 12-volt trigger signal control, protection circuitry against excess voltage and current, two-stage start-up relay to reduce current discharges and extend longevity, and a removable power cable, all in a chassis of standardized dimensions 5U with rack mount lugs included.
