Architecture Inspired by the Musical Fidelity TITAN

The M5xi power amplifier section uses a Dual Mono configuration derived from the design philosophy developed for the TITAN. Each channel features its own amplification section, providing precise stereo reproduction and consistent power delivery.

Its low-distortion Darlington output stage and optimised circuit design contribute to clean and controlled reproduction, with THD+N below 0.009%.

The preamplifier remains fully analogue and uses a Burr-Brown stepped volume control, providing excellent channel accuracy while preserving fine musical detail even at low listening levels.

Integrated MM and MC Phono Stage

For vinyl enthusiasts, the Musical Fidelity M5xi features an integrated phono stage compatible with both Moving Magnet (MM) and Moving Coil (MC) cartridges.

The phono section benefits from careful shielding, isolation and circuit layout to minimise interference and noise when handling one of the most sensitive signals in any audio system.

This allows a turntable equipped with a wide range of MM or MC cartridges to be connected directly to the amplifier without requiring an external phono preamplifier.

HDMI eARC for TV Integration

The Musical Fidelity M5xi also features USB-C, optical and coaxial digital inputs, making it easy to connect computers, streamers, televisions and other digital sources.

The digital and HDMI circuitry is housed on separate boards with dedicated power supplies, helping to minimise the transmission of high-frequency interference to the amplifier's analogue sections.

Home Theatre Bypass

The Home Theatre Bypass function allows the M5xi to be easily integrated into a home cinema system.

In this mode, the preamplifier section can be bypassed, allowing the M5xi to drive the front left and right loudspeakers as part of an AV system.

Pre-Out and Line-Out connections provide additional flexibility for future system expansion.

Robust Construction and Effective Shielding

The metal chassis and aluminium front panel are designed not only for their appearance, but also to increase structural rigidity and provide effective shielding against electromagnetic interference.
