The MODEL 30 continues the acclaimed heritage of exceptional Marantz amplifiers. Tuned by Marantz sound masters who channeled their passion, experience and extraordinary ears into the amplifier's design.

The Most Musical, Precise and Detailed Sound

The MODEL 30 is equipped with its own discrete circuit board: the Hyper-Dynamic Amplifier Module, or HDAM. By manually selecting hundreds of individual components rather than adopting a pre-made solution, the MODEL 30's HDAM significantly outperforms conventional integrated circuits to create the unique musicality you've always come to expect from Marantz.

Switched Source Amplification

The MODEL 30 maintains the purest sound possible and supports the power needed to power even the most demanding speakers. The MODEL 30's output stage allows for high power output, delivering 2x100W into an 8ohm load, and easily handles low impedance speakers thanks to the 2x200W output into 4ohms. Since feedback is obtained after the output filter coil in this switched amplification design, the output frequency response remains the same and is not influenced by the impedance of the connected speaker, ensuring the most musical sound regardless of the speakers. The amplification module plugs directly into the rear panel PCB on the MODEL 30 to minimize the output path while maintaining signal purity and sound stability.

Multiple Analog Inputs and Outputs

In addition to turntable and CD outputs, the MODEL 30 integrates two line inputs and a pair of recorder input/output ports that allow connection of multiple sources and recorders. The MODEL 30 can be used as a stereo power amplifier for additional system versatility with the included direct power amplification input. For example, you can use the front “pre” outputs of an existing A/V system with the MODEL 30 power amplifiers.

Marantz Musical Premium Phono EQ

Designed to provide the best sound quality by simplifying the signal path – essential given the dedicated nature of turntable signals – the Phono EQ stage on the MODEL 30 can be used with both MM and MC heads, thanks to the integrated MC amplifier. This design reduces distortion, which is why the turntable stage uses two-stage amplification, combining Marantz HDAMs with JFETs in the input stage, offering high input impedance. This allows the non-negative feedback design to be further simplified by removing coupling capacitors, again reducing distortion and improving signal purity.

MC/MM Turntable Input Impedance Selector

In order to optimize sound performance when using a moving coil (MC) or moving magnet (MM) head, and to accommodate all configurations as much as possible, the MODEL 30 is equipped with an input impedance selector. The input impedance can be adjusted between three different options: MC LOW (33 ohm), MC MID (100 ohm) and MC HIGH (390 ohm).
