The most nuanced Cambridge integrated amplifier.
The Edge A has been created in honor of musicality. Riffs, phrases, percussion hits: capture every detail of your music thanks to its dynamic configuration. Effortless, but with incredible depth, the sound is impressive, as if you were sitting in the recording booth with the musicians.
Spectacular musicality
The Edge A is designed to bring musical nuances to life. It offers a perfectly balanced sound, with musical depth and clarity that comes through in every note. Cambridge has developed the ear system, testing each component and choosing only those that make the difference. This results in innovative arrangements that produce a much cleaner signal path so your music sounds its best. The Edge A offers, to perfection, the firm's classic British Sound, without additions but without anything missing.
More musical nuances
Cambridge has been a pioneer in using toroidal transformers in amplifiers, which has achieved better performance. With the Edge range it goes one step further, using double toroidal transformers of opposite symmetry. This cancels out electromagnetic interference while delivering exceptional power, maintaining consistent tonality, regardless of the playback volume level.
Effortless and distortion-free power
Using standard Class A amplification technology has not been efficient enough for the Edge A. Instead, Cambridge has added biasing to a traditional Class AB design, reducing distortion to make it inaudible to the human ear. Additionally, this unique configuration produces less heat and makes the entire system much more efficient.
Bluetooth in high resolution
Connect any Bluetooth device to the Edge A to easily play your music. With aptX HD support, you can play music at up to 24-bit/48kHz quality for an unbeatable listening experience.
Balanced sound
The Edge A is designed with a unique PCI (printed circuit board). Cambridge engineers have replaced conventional capacitors with a DC-coupled topology and included a multiplier digital-to-analogue converter (MDAC). The goal has been to minimize interference in the signal path and ensure perfect channel balance at all volumes.
