Created in collaboration with Ian “Swifty” Swift
If you don't know Swifty, you probably know his work. This graphic designer, responsible for some of the most influential record labels and magazines in his country's musical history, has designed this unique, limited blue and white edition of an iconic British synthesizer. Two powerful analog oscillators The Bass Station II's purely analog signal path includes two synchronizable and tunable analog oscillators, offering four waveforms each: sine, triangular, sawtooth and square, as well as a sub-oscillator. The mixer section allows you to combine external audio inputs, noise and ring modulation. Extensive analog filter section The Bass Station II includes two characterful analog filters, which are controlled with a large cutoff dial. The Classic filter is variable, and can alternate between high-pass, low-pass, and band-pass modes with rolloffs of 12 and 24 dB per octave. Acid is a 24 dB per octave low-pass filter, perfect for dark, acidic bass lines. Saturation, Distortion and More Switch from soft sounds to aggressive tones with the pre-filter analog overdrive and post-filter distortion control in the Bass Station II effects section. Flexible Modulation The Bass Station II's two LFOs offer triangular, sawtooth waveforms and squares, as well as “sampling and holding”. You also get two flexible ADSR envelopes. Pulse width modulation can be adjusted with a dedicated dial, LFO, or modulation envelope. Additionally, the filter can be modulated from OSC 2 for classic analog FM tones. Powerful Step Sequencer and Arpeggiator Play notes, slurs, rests and rhythms in real time using the Step Sequencer and Arpeggiator, then save them for use with any patch. Built to Play The Bass Station II features 25 full-size keys without Counterweight with assignable portamento, glide and post-pulse. The front panel is well organized and labeled for intuitive patch design and sound editing. New signature patches The Bass Station II Swifty Edition comes with 60 all-new sounds, from Dutch techno icon Legowelt to alt-pop duo Pecq to keyboard virtuoso Maria Chiara Argiro. Extensive patch storage With the Bass Station II, creating, saving and recalling your favorite sounds is a breeze. simple: it has 64 pre-installed factory patches and offers space for 64 more created by you. Paraphonic mode The Bass Station II allows you to control the tones of each oscillator separately and play two notes at the same time, instead of one. Try applying filter or ring modulation to add more character to your sound design. AFX Mode AFX Mode, designed in collaboration with electronic music legend Richard D. James, also known as Aphex Twin, allows you to load different sounds into each key of the keyboard. You can use it for everything from subtle sound variations, to radically different sounds for each note, to full analog drum kits, which can be triggered manually or with the arpeggiator. Hardware and Software Connections The Bass Station II includes all the connections you need to easily link it to the rest of your studio devices. It features 5-pin MIDI input and output, sustain pedal input, a dedicated headphone jack, and USB connectivity for MIDI control with your DAW, bus power, patch transfer, and firmware upgrade. Ableton Live Lite Ideal for developing ideas, recording tracks, and performing, Live Lite gives you everything you need to start creating music with this iconic DAW: from synthesizers and sampled instruments to creative effects and Live's trademark scene and clip launch tool.
