Marantz CINEMA 60 DAB Series 2 – 7.2 Channel AV Receiver with Dolby Atmos, 8K HDMI and DAB+ Radio

The Marantz CINEMA 60 DAB Series 2 is a high-performance AV receiver designed to deliver an immersive home cinema experience and outstanding musical reproduction. Featuring seven channels of amplification, 100 watts per channel, Dolby Atmos and DTS:X processing, and 8K HDMI connectivity, it combines the essential technologies required for a powerful, modern and versatile home theatre system.

This second-generation model introduces an upgraded digital conversion stage with a 32-bit DAC and optional Dirac Live Room Correction compatibility, complementing the integrated Audyssey MultEQ XT calibration system. HEOS Built-in, DAB+ digital radio and network connectivity also provide access to high-resolution music streaming and multiroom audio.

Immersive Cinematic Sound with Dolby Atmos and DTS:X

The CINEMA 60 DAB Series 2 supports Dolby Atmos and DTS:X immersive audio formats, creating a three-dimensional sound experience with effects moving around and above the listening position.

Its seven built-in amplification channels support 5.1.2 speaker configurations, including two height channels for Dolby Atmos, or traditional 7.1 surround sound systems, providing flexibility for different home cinema environments.

Dolby Atmos Height Virtualization and DTS Virtual:X technologies can also create an enhanced sense of spaciousness with compatible speaker configurations that do not include dedicated height speakers.

Seven Channels of Amplification with 100 Watts per Channel

Delivering a rated output of 100 watts per channel into 8 ohms, measured from 20Hz to 20kHz with two channels driven, the Marantz CINEMA 60 DAB Series 2 is engineered to reproduce demanding movie soundtracks with excellent dynamics, detail and control.

Its discrete amplification architecture, Current Feedback technology and Marantz HDAM-SA2 modules contribute to a balanced sonic presentation, preserving musical expression and dialogue clarity.

Pure Direct mode provides a simplified signal path for dedicated music listening sessions.

Upgraded 32-bit DAC for Enhanced Audio Performance

One of the key improvements in the Series 2 is its digital conversion stage, featuring an upgraded 32-bit multichannel DAC.

This implementation is designed to deliver highly accurate digital-to-analogue conversion, contributing to detailed and transparent reproduction of movies, concerts and music recordings.

Marantz sound tuning combines this technology with an amplification architecture focused on naturalness, refinement and musicality.

Audyssey MultEQ XT Calibration and Optional Dirac Live

Room acoustics have a significant influence on the performance of any home cinema system. The CINEMA 60 DAB Series 2 includes Audyssey MultEQ XT, allowing the receiver to measure speaker response and optimise playback according to the room characteristics and listening positions.

Audyssey Dynamic EQ and Dynamic Volume are also included, helping maintain tonal balance and manage volume variations under different listening conditions.

As an important improvement in this generation, the receiver is compatible with Dirac Live Room Correction, available through an optional licence and suitable measurement accessories.

This provides an advanced alternative for optimising the acoustic response of the system, particularly in more demanding listening environments.

8K HDMI and 4K at 120Hz for Movies and Gaming

The Marantz CINEMA 60 DAB Series 2 features six HDMI inputs, three of which support 8K/60Hz and 4K/120Hz signals, making it suitable for modern televisions, projectors, gaming consoles and high-resolution video sources.

It supports Dolby Vision, HDR10+, HLG, Dynamic HDR and eARC, ensuring compatibility with high-resolution video and high dynamic range content.

Gaming features include VRR, ALLM, QFT and AMD FreeSync, designed to improve motion fluidity and reduce latency with compatible equipment.

Two HDMI outputs allow the connection of two display devices, such as a television and projector, providing additional installation flexibility.

Integrated DAB+ Digital Radio and FM Tuner

The built-in DAB+ digital radio tuner allows reception of digital terrestrial radio broadcasts in areas where the service is available, alongside conventional FM radio.

DAB+ provides access to compatible digital radio stations without requiring streaming applications or additional external devices.

Station availability depends on regional broadcast coverage and services.

HEOS Built-in – Music Streaming and Multiroom Audio

With HEOS Built-in, the CINEMA 60 DAB Series 2 also functions as a versatile music entertainment hub, allowing playback over the home network and multiroom audio distribution to compatible HEOS devices.

It offers Wi-Fi, Ethernet, Bluetooth and Apple AirPlay 2 connectivity, together with integration for streaming services such as Spotify Connect, TIDAL Connect and Qobuz Connect.

High-resolution audio playback includes FLAC, WAV and ALAC files up to 24-bit/192kHz, as well as DSD up to 5.6MHz.

Roon Ready compatibility further expands its integration possibilities within advanced digital music systems.

Comprehensive Connectivity for Hi-Fi and Home Cinema

The CINEMA 60 DAB Series 2 provides optical and coaxial digital inputs, analogue audio connections and a dedicated MM phono input for connecting a turntable equipped with a moving magnet cartridge.

Its 7.2-channel pre-amplifier outputs allow integration with external power amplifiers, providing additional system upgrade possibilities without replacing the AV processor.

Two subwoofer outputs, USB connectivity and Zone 2 audio functionality offer further flexibility for home entertainment installations.

Signature Marantz Design and Easy Operation

The CINEMA 60 DAB Series 2 features the distinctive design of the current Marantz generation, combining elegant styling with the iconic circular front display.

An on-screen setup assistant simplifies initial installation, while the Marantz AVR Remote and HEOS applications provide convenient control through compatible mobile devices.
