6 Channels of Amplification

The AMP 30 incorporates six independent amplification channels, allowing it to directly power a multichannel system or complement additional power amplifiers in a larger home cinema installation.

Its architecture makes it possible to combine multiple AMP 30 units or use it alongside other Marantz power amplifiers to create systems requiring a larger number of channels.

200 W per Channel into 8 Ohms

In normal operation, the AMP 30 provides 200 W per channel into 8 ohms, delivering substantial dynamic capability for demanding film soundtracks and high-performance loudspeakers.

Marantz specifies 200 W × 2 into 8 ohms at 1 kHz and 0.05% THD, while the amplifier is also rated at 200 W per channel into 8 ohms with five channels driven.

400 W per Channel into 4 Ohms

With 4-ohm loads, specified output increases to 400 W per channel, providing considerable power reserves for more demanding loudspeakers.

This capability makes the AMP 30 particularly suitable for high-performance home cinema systems where the dynamic peaks of film soundtracks can require substantial instantaneous power.

Flexible Home Cinema Configuration

The combination of six channels, RCA and XLR inputs and Normal, Bi-Amp and BTL operating modes allows the AMP 30 to be configured according to the specific requirements of each system.

Different channels can, for example, be assigned to front, centre, surround or height loudspeakers, while selected channel pairs can be dedicated to Bi-Amp or BTL operation.

The AMP 30 has been designed to form a particularly coherent combination with the Marantz AV 30, pairing the preamplifier/processor's 11.4-channel processing with powerful external amplification.

For systems requiring additional channels, further AMP 30 units or Marantz AMP 20 and AMP 10 power amplifiers can be added.

Integrated Control with Marantz AV Processors

When connected to a compatible Marantz AV Separate component using the supplied control cable, operation of the AMP 30 can be synchronised with the preamplifier.

Power and selected illumination functions can therefore operate together, providing simpler operation and seamless visual and functional integration between components.
