QUAD Platina CDT – High-End CD Transport with Reference-Level Digital Precision

The QUAD Platina CDT is the reference CD transport in the Platina series, developed to combine the physical experience of CD playback with a modern, high-precision digital architecture. With no internal DAC, the Platina CDT dedicates its resources exclusively to digital transport. Temperature-Compensated TCXO Clock

One of the key elements of the Platina CDT architecture is its Temperature-Compensated Crystal Oscillator (TCXO).

Conventional oscillators can experience small frequency variations as temperature changes. In a digital audio system, these variations can affect the timing accuracy of the signal.

The TCXO used in the Platina CDT continuously compensates for temperature changes, providing a more stable and consistent clock reference.

Low Jitter and High Signal Integrity

The timing precision provided by the TCXO allows the Platina CDT to maintain low levels of jitter when transmitting digital information to the DAC.

This stability helps preserve the timing integrity of the data, allowing the digital-to-analogue converter to receive a signal that is as precise as possible.

More Than a CD Transport

Although developed around Compact Disc playback, the Platina CDT is not limited to conventional audio CDs.

Compatibility with USB HDD also allows it to operate as a digital source for locally stored music files.

A compatible USB drive can be connected directly to the unit, providing access to a music collection and playback through the same digital architecture used by the transport.
