Marantz has developed its own discrete circuit boards to replace conventional integrated circuits (ICs). HDAMs consist of discrete surface-mount components with short, symmetrical E/R signal paths. These devices fulfill exactly the same function as common op amps, but their performance is vastly superior in terms of Slew Rate and noise level, resulting in a more dynamic, precise and detailed sound. In the CD6007, the proprietary HDAM-SA2 circuit is better than the previous HDAM module for an even more stable power supply. Current stability is less influenced by power transistor temperatures in order to maintain high sound performance even at high level output.

Compared to the CD6006, the CD6007 offers an improved and redesigned headphone amplification section. The CD6007 inherits the exclusive Marantz HDAM-SA2 circuit with three gain options (Low/Mid/High) for a perfect match with virtually any brand of headphones and the best possible solo listening experience. However, if you prefer, the headphone amplifier is also equipped with a "Loop Off" function that automatically switches off the amplifier when no headphones are connected to the unit, to avoid any unwanted interference or noise.
