3 wood oasis
Leaders of the Drivers
The sound of wood: Maple, Hemp, Cocobolo
For the first time, three different species of wood work together in Grado headphones. The shell is made with maple veneer, hemp core and cocobolo outer ring. Grado has chosen the wood for its quality and great tonal abilities, finding the perfect balance between the three woods, which has not been an easy task. The reward for such dedication is the RS1x, which takes Grado to a new level of sound.
The Grado sound signature
Concentrating all its experience in the 50mm Driver The maple does most of the work, the hemp softens the extreme frequencies and the cocobolo adds extra punch. Putting these three woods together, the sound is full-bodied in all frequencies, dynamic and really defined.
Drivers X Series by Grado, a new harmony
The Grado RS1x are the first headphones to feature the large 50mm X drivers. Tuned specifically for the RS1x three-wood headphones, this new transducer design features a stronger magnetic circuit, a voice coil with reduced effective mass, and a reconfigured diaphragm.
By redesigning these components for the 50mm drivers, efficiency is improved, distortion is reduced and the harmonic integrity of the music is maintained.
A little extra with the new cable and headband
In addition to the drivers, the cabling and headband have also been redesigned for the RS1x headphones. Equipped with greater resistance, the new cable with 8 super-annealed copper conductors provides even greater purity to the music.
For its part, the new black leather headband has white stitching that gives it style and personality.
From Brooklyn with love
Grado's first wooden headphones were created in 1994 by John Grado. Wood has been a common raw material for the New York firm ever since. The expensive pair of RS1x headphones is handcrafted in Brooklyn by the firm's team, and this device goes from workbench to workbench until it's ready for the discerning ears of Grado users. The brand began its journey on a kitchen table in 1953 and all the experience gained since then has led to the RS1x.
