Description

Flagship of the Aura Series bookshelf speakers, the Aura 2 is actually a “super monitor”, as a result of the dimensions required to house a 3-way/3-speaker bass-reflex configuration. A conception that aims to make available to a greater number of fans the qualities that have given so much renown to Wharfedale's reference range, the sensational Elysian. Hence, it includes much-appreciated technical refinements such as an AMT high-frequency transducer, matrix-cone midrange and bass drivers, the innovative SLLP “perimetric” bass-reflex port, and an immaculately finished external construction. It should be noted that the AMT (“Air Motion Transformer”), unlike dome designs or other conventional “planar”/ribbon designs, moves air in a very different way thanks to the use of a large folded diaphragm with very low mass, which allows for substantially improved definition and response to transients. The Aura 2, which can be mounted on an optional dedicated stand, is completed with an enclosure built with panels made up of multiple layers of different woods following the PROS scheme (“Panel Resonance Optimization System”), which prevents internal vibrations from being transmitted to the speakers and interfering with the sound emitted by them.
