For almost 75 years, the Californian brand JBL has managed to forge its own legend in the field of home and professional audio with iconic creations that have proven capable of defying the passage of time thanks to perfectly harmonized conception, materials and technology.

A philosophy that is palpable with a special sensitivity in models such as the shelf/stand-mounted “supermonitor” L100 Classic, the careful updating of a JBL superclassic that has been widely celebrated by home sound enthusiasts with capital letters around the world. Inspired by the aforementioned L100 Classic, the new L82 Classic is a compact two-way bass-reflex monitor equipped with JBL's most advanced technologies, complete with an elegant enclosure finished in satin walnut and the iconic grid with Quadrex square foam “cells” – available in black, orange or blue – from the American brand.

As far as technology is concerned, the L82 Classic bases its power, as is the norm at JBL, on the use of very high quality transducers entirely designed and built by the veteran Northridge company. Thus, reproducing the upper part of the spectrum is carried out by a tweeter with a 25 mm titanium dome, equipped with a waveguide that improves directivity, thus increasing the spaciousness of the sound and contributing to structuring extremely convincing sound scenes.

For its part, the low-mid and low zones are entrusted to one of the emblematic speakers with a 203 mm diameter treated pulp cone and cast metal chassis that, in conjunction with an effective bass-reflex loading system with a front port, allows for virtually lossless reproduction of frequencies below 50 Hz. The L82 Classic is completed with a crossover filter made with high-quality components equipped with one of the traditional JBL L-pad attenuators to increase or reduce the treble level depending on the user's tastes and the characteristics of the room. Furthermore, a nominal impedance of 8 ohms and a sensitivity of 88 dB/W/m ensure perfect compatibility with a wide repertoire of amplification electronics.
