Designed at JBL's world-renowned acoustic engineering center in Northridge, California, the 4309 is a bass-reflex bookshelf speaker featuring JBL's revolutionary HDI ("High Definition Imaging") technology, which combines a transducer with a compression chamber and horn, and is ultimately responsible for its extraordinarily powerful and precise sound. For its part, the reproduction of the low-mid and low zones of the spectrum is entrusted to a 165-diameter electrodynamic speaker loaded with bass-reflex that combines one of JBL's iconic Pure Pulp cones with a cast chassis. On the outside, the 4309 stands out for using the classic JBL monitor design with its iconic blue front panel, while the enclosure itself is finished in real walnut and dark walnut wood veneers and is completed by a blue or black protective grille. Additionally, the 4309 includes two sets of gold-plated connection terminals to facilitate bi-wiring.
