CALLISTO 2 C are the monitors of the new wireless DALI ecosystem that allows easy access to all music in Hi-Res directly from the electronic device. It is possible to connect via Bluetooth (AAC/ aptX HD) or with the optional BluOS module (WiFi). CALLISTO 2 C is the perfect choice for the perfect rooms where you do not want to give up quality reproduction. The union of the 6½” DALI low-loss woofer, the hybrid tweeter module and a perfectly internally balanced enclosure are the basis of a highly precise audio experience.

Touch volume control:The top touch panel of the CALLISTO allows you to control the volume with a single touch. The included Bluetooth controller and Sound Hub volume wheel allow you to do this too. Regardless of the method chosen, the volume will change throughout the entire chain.

SMC Technology: CALLISTO woofers feature DALI's patented Soft Magnetic Compound (SMC) in their magnet. This results in an extremely agile, well-performing, ultra-low loss woofer that features significant reduction in mechanical loss distortion.

Wood Fiber Cones:CALLISTO lightweight wood fiber cones are optimized to work in perfect balance with the integrated amplifier. This allows the woofers to be more linear than is possible in similar passive systems. Something possible because DALI has total control over the entire production chain.

Class D Amplifier:The CALLISTO Class D amplifier is based on cutting-edge patented DALI technology, with global feedback and self-oscillating design, chosen for its musicality. Capable of offering a 250W torrent for five seconds, it guarantees being able to enjoy complex musical passages as well as massive cinematic explosions.

As part of the CALLISTO DALI wireless ecosystem, CALLISTO 2 C monitors represent the virtues of traditional HiFi in the convenience of wireless audio. Designed to fulfill the DALI promise of achieving the most natural and honest reproduction possible.

CALLISTO 2 C is perfect for smaller spaces or rooms where the speakers must be discreet, but without sacrificing power or image. The combination of a 6½” low-loss wood fiber cone woofer, a hybrid tweeter module and a perfectly internally balanced enclosure achieves a powerful and extremely precise sound experience.

CALLISTO 2 C connects wirelessly to the DALI Sound Hub using a highly stable digital connection. With a latency of less than 25 ms, synchronization between audio and video in movies or television remains within acceptable limits.

Everything from the drivers to the amplifier has been developed by the firm, which is why DALI can optimize each piece to fit with the other perfectly. This allows the Danes to design the woofers more linearly than would be possible in comparable passive speaker systems.

DALI CALLISTO 2 C Woofer

CALLISTO 2 C's unique 6½" woofer takes linearity and low loss to a new level. By fully controlling the signal path from source to driver, DALI acoustic equipment has been able to elevate audio reproduction beyond that of conventional speakers.

Each element of the CALLISTO woofer has been optimized to work in perfect balance with the integrated amplifier, so the acoustic scene is rich in detail, coherent in timing and brutally immersive. The result is music reproduced exactly as the artist intended.

DALI has used its experience developing the woofers of the OPTICON and RUBICON ranges, together with listening for countless hours, to optimize the magnetic motor, taking it to its zenith. With this knowledge, they have been able to achieve a very linear and perfectly symmetrical suspension in the area of ​​​​the voice coil and membrane, which only takes control to reduce the movement of the membrane at excessively critical points.

The extra linearity achieved both around the voice coil and in the spider means a reduction in mechanical distortion and less stress on the amplifier, leading to a better defined soundstage.

SMC

The CALLISTO woofer has SMC in the magnetic piece. When used in a magnetic motor system, it represents a significant reduction in distortion due to mechanical loss. SMC's unique ability to deliver high magnetic conductivity with low electrical conductivity has all the desirable qualities of a good speaker magnet but without the usual cons.

As a result of this optimization and especially the use of SMC, CALLISTO 2 C has an extremely agile, well-behaved and ultra-low loss woofer that, when teamed with the amplifier, is capable of offering a richly detailed, time-coherent and very powerful audio signal.

Hybrid tweeter module

Like its older brother, CALLISTO 2 C features the innovative Hybrid Tweeter module, which has been optimized specifically for the CALLISTO series. By combining a dome tweeter and a ribbon tweeter, you get surprising performance at high frequencies and a dispersion of these that surpasses other tweeter technologies.

The dome membrane is very soft and ultra-light, so thin that it requires a layer of varnish to be used during construction. At DALI they have optimized the magnetic system to maximize flux saturation right in the voice coil area. This improvement, together with the use of an ultra-fine magnetic fluid for cooling, means better control, better supported power and better distortion limitation.

The ribbon portion in the hybrid tweeter module is a magneto-static style tweeter. Four bands of conductive material make up the active diaphragm controlled by a strong magnetic field formed around it. The ribbon tweeter is a master of wide dispersion and combining it with the dome tweeter results in a tweeter capable of going down to 2.0 KHz and continuing to play smoothly up to above 30 KHz. This extreme bandwidth meets ultra-wide dispersion as part of DALI's sonic definition.

DALI amplifier CALLISTO 2 C

Designing the best-in-class active speaker system is the sum of several parts. A really important one is the amplifier, or more specifically, the amplification module. Any quality amplification module consists of three equally important parts that need to be designed to work together in perfect harmony: the amplifier itself, the PSU, and the signal processing. The PSU and signal preprocessing to the amplifier circuitry must be precisely adhered to the needs of the amplifier. Only in this way is amplification without distortion, without coloration and coherent achieved.

The CALLISTO 2 C Class D amplifier is based on cutting-edge technology patented by DALI, with a global feedback and self-oscillating design chosen for its musical properties. Being capable of delivering 250W for up to 5 seconds, which is enough power to reproduce complex musical passages as well as massive cinematic explosions.

Housing

In its large joinery factory in Denmark, DALI precisely cuts the MDF panels for the DALI CALLISTO 2C enclosures, ensuring high quality standards are maintained, continuing through the application of vinyl.

The CALLISTO 2 C case is manufactured from 25mm solid MDF, which has a very rigid construction and a solid structure inside the case for extra reinforcement. This contributes to strength and density that virtually eliminates case resonance. At the same time, DALI has been very careful to avoid reducing the internal volume of the case unnecessarily.

The assembly of the drivers and the final tests on each speaker are also carried out directly by DALI in its large factory located in Denmark.

Through strict control over every aspect of production, CALLISTO achieves a level of fit and finish normally only found in products in a much higher price range.
