STUDIO MONITOR (ACTIVE) The S3V builds on the successes of ADAM Audio's most popular studio monitors, the S3A and S3X-V, and, like its predecessors, sets new standards in terms of technical innovation and design.

Bass frequencies from 32 Hz to 250 Hz are handled by the 9-inch LF driver with all-new ADAM exclusive Extended Linear Excursion (ELE) technology. Audio, which incorporates the company's equally innovative Symmetry Magnet Assembly (SMA) and delivers extremely precise and powerful bass that extends easily down into the sub-bass region. Midrange and HF information is reproduced with the same analytical precision thanks to the combination of ADAM Audio's new 4-inch DCH midrange driver and the highly refined S-ART folded ribbon HF driver. Together with the new HPS waveguide, the latter offers high-frequency reproduction with an extremely wide sweet spot with fine, highly detailed imaging and a natural sense of depth.

The S-series' custom DSP optimizes cutoff frequencies to create linear responses across the range, and enables user equalization and control room tuning/output functions. A unique feature of the S3V's DSP options is a built-in EQ preset that emulates the response of ADAM Audio's legendary S3A monitor. The DSP also manages limiter-based treble protection, AES3 digital inputs and, over time, facilitates various expansion options. Software upgrades can be easily performed via the associated USB port, which also allows users to connect computers and control the speakers' DSP functions via front-end software.

With its powerful amplification and three-way design (optimally configured for horizontal use), the S3V was intended as a center-of-field monitor, but can be used equally well in more compact listening environments. As with all ADAM audio designs, the sound is piercing yet musical, with crystal-clear reproduction of the most important midrange.

The S3V's built-in amplification is generously specified, including Class D units for the woofers and midrange drivers (500 W and 300 W RMS, respectively) and a 50 W Class A/B amplifier for the S-ART tweeter.
