Designed for small studio spaces, short listening distances, and immersive multi-speaker setups, the A4V delivers accurate, full-bodied sound in a compact form factor. This two-way speaker features a 4-inch long-throw woofer made from the same multi-layer mineral fibers (MLM) as other A-series speakers, plus the classic X-ART tweeter. Built-in DSP-based tuning capabilities let you easily dial in the perfect sound for your space. With a frequency range of 53 Hz to 42 kHz, the A4V can accommodate a wide spectrum of audio applications, from podcast production to string quartet mixing, and is perfectly suited for 5.1 and 7.1 setups. X-ART
ADAM Audio HPS (High Frequency Propagation System) waveguide technology allows the tweeters to disperse sound with controlled consistency. Wide on the horizontal axis but narrowly focused on the vertical plane. The A series features a rotating design HPS waveguide. The A-Series tweeters can be rotated in 90-degree steps to continue benefiting from HPS waveguide technology, whether you place the speaker horizontally or vertically.
The A-Series HPS waveguide is made from a new fiberglass polymer composite that helps create clear sound free of unwanted resonances. The ADAM Audio X-ART tweeter is the heart of the HPS waveguide. Handcrafted in Germany, it provides precise transient response and reproduces the finest sonic details. This X-ART tweeter is used in all A-Series speakers and provides detailed sound across the entire product line.
Mineral Multi-Layer Woofer
A-Series woofers are constructed from a unique combination of mineral stone fibers that have been baked together to create a lightweight, yet highly stable material. The mineral composition, layers and geometry of each cone are specific to each model. By combining this material with a new magnet system, A-Series woofers produce high performance with low distortion, delivering unmatched clean sound.
Hybrid Amplification
The A-Series combines the best of the digital and analog worlds. The woofers are driven by class D amplifiers that produce linear performance while reducing distortion. These amplifiers have been specifically designed with power and efficiency in mind, both in terms of power consumption and sound reproduction.
The tweeters are powered by class AB amplifiers that offer smooth and natural reproduction of high frequencies. Each amplifier is optimized for its operating range.
DSP-Based Electronics
The A Series harnesses the transformative power of DSP-based electronics to provide greater tuning accuracy and better predictability. With firmware that can be updated via an Ethernet connection, in the future any A-Series monitor will be able to implement improvements based on ADAM Audio's DSP, including new types of filters and functions, as well as alternative voices.
Adapting listening environments
The real magic of the A-Series lies here, adapting the sound of the monitor to the sound of the room, seamlessly, it's that simple:
On the rear panel of the A-Series speakers, you will find four bands room-adaptive equalization options: Bass, Desk, Presence and Treble. Each band can be adjusted in predefined steps, offering over 100 tuning options to help compensate for typical acoustic issues that arise from speaker placement.
Preset Voices
A “voice” is a predefined sound profile of the A Series monitors. On the rear panel, you'll find three different options, ",UNR",, ",Pure", and "UNR" or "Uniform Natural Response™" is a dynamic, natural-sounding response curve of ADAM Audio's own design, which is derived from a variety of iconic legacy ADAM Audio products, including the previous AX Series. It lends itself to production, or composition.
“Pure” is a neutral and high-precision sound option. This is the "flat" configuration, ideal for mixing and mastering, where you really have to be aware of all the details and rely on an honest representation of your speakers.
The "Ext" voice option is dedicated to the extended functionality that comes with A Control over the Ethernet connection.
“A-Control” (real-time remote control)
The DSP functions of all A-series monitors can be controlled remotely and in real time via Ethernet using the free downloadable “A-Control” software. A-Control is available for Windows and MacOS.
Once downloaded and installed, you can control multiple speakers at once, fine-tuning equalization from multiple listening positions in your studio space. While you work, you can remotely control monitor levels from here. Remote control capabilities are particularly useful in multi-purpose rooms, allowing you to make sure the voice, EQ, and settings are exactly how you want them.
Room Correction and Sonarworks Integration
A-Series speakers are designed to adapt to changing requirements, preferences, and environments. With A-Control software, you can send advanced room correction models directly to the monitors' board to help compensate for imperfect room acoustics. This integrated platform supports industry-leading third-party Sonarworks models. Using Sonarworks software and a measurement microphone, you can calibrate your monitors for a new room or to tweak the one you currently have in use.
Bass Reflex System, Cabinets and Mounting
The new A Series cabinets build on the heritage of ADAM Audio and the AX Series in particular. In an evolutionary design, A Series enclosures have a deeper bevel to further reduce diffraction. Additionally, thicker baffle walls strengthen the case structure itself and reduce internal vibrations, while a two-sided flared port design optimizes airflow and reduces port noise. All A-series speakers include a bottom mounting interface, giving you the flexibility to mount A-series speakers wherever you need them.
