The DALI OPTICON MK2 range

DALI OPTICON MK2 is made up of six models and is located on the scale of the DALI catalog where both reproduction and engineering take a step forward in quality to be considered authentic high-end Hi-Fi. OPTICON MK2 also introduces the renowned and appreciated DALI hybrid tweeter module, die-cast aluminum driver chassis, pure SMC driver magnets and housings manufactured by the firm in its own facilities. Each OPTICON MK2 model is built around mid/bass drivers manufactured by DALI in-house, and feature either the DALI soft dome tweeter or its hybrid dome and ribbon tweeter module. OPTICON MK2 models are available in three finishes: Satin White, Satin Black and Tobacco Oak*. The grilles are covered with upholsterer quality fabric in black for the two darker finishes and in light gray for the white finish.

* OPTICON 8 MK2 is only available in Satin Black Ash and Tobacco Oak finishes.

DALI OPTICON 6 MK2

The stylized DALI OPTICON 6 MK2 columns are the point at which the renewed DALI Hybrid Tweeter module is presented, simultaneously combining the capabilities of the soft dome and ribbon models. This module offers a significant advance in high frequency resolution and has been improved for the OPTICON MK2 range by incorporating the 29mm dome tweeter found in the CALLISTO active boxes with a 17 x 45mm ribbon tweeter in a redesigned aluminum faceplate. The bass and midrange of the OPTICON 6 MK2 are managed by two twin 6½” drivers with wood fiber diaphragms, which feature SMC magnet bass/mid drivers.

OPTICON 6 MK2 offers optional bi-wiring to enable independent connection of its bass/mid and high frequency sections. Thanks to its twin drivers, Dual Flare reflex loading and the largest possible internal volume thanks to its floor-standing housing, OPTICON 6 MK2 achieves significantly greater low-frequency extension than the mono models in the range. In addition, this brilliant bass reproduction is combined with a clear midrange and controlled, crisp treble, characteristic of DALI Hybrid Tweeter.

OPTICON 6 MK2 has an aluminum foot that is complemented by either black chrome decoupling tips or, if installed on delicate surfaces, vibration damping feet. Tools to attach the feet of choice are included as standard.
