Touch Volume: The top touch panel of CALLISTO speakers allows the user to control the volume with a touch. The included remote control and Sound Hub volume wheel makes it really easy. Regardless of the method chosen, the volume level will be applied to the entire signal transport chain.

SMC Technology: CALLISTO woofers have the benefits of Soft Magnetic Compound (SMC) in the magnetic piece. The result is an extremely agile, well-behaved, ultra-low loss woofer with a drastic reduction in mechanical loss distortion.

Wood Fiber Cones: CALLISTO's lightweight wood fiber cones are optimized to work in perfect balance with its integrated amplifier. This allows the woofers to be more linear than those in a similar passive speaker system. This is possible, offering the user full control over the entire audio chain.

Class D Amplifier:The CALLISTO Class D amplifier is based on the cutting-edge patented DALI technology that has global recognition and a self-oscillating design, chosen for its musical properties. It is capable of providing 250W for up to 5 seconds, offering full power even in complex musical passages or massive cinematic explosions.

CALLISTO 6C represents the virtues of traditional HiFi wrapped in a convenient wireless audio solution.

DALI has developed every part of CALLISTO 6 C, from the drivers to the integrated amplifier, which is why they can optimize each component to fit with the rest perfectly. This allows DALI to design the woofers to be more linear than would be possible in a similar passive speaker.

DALI has taken woofer design to new limits of reproduction, made possible by fully controlling the signal path. Taking advantage of its potential, the Danes raise playback to levels that surpass almost any amplifier and cabinet combination in their price range.

CALLISTO 6 C connects wirelessly to the Sound Hub using an extremely stable digital connection – compatible with both 2.4 GHz and 5.8 GHz bands depending on location and connection quality. With a latency of less than 25 ms, the synchronization between the video and audio of a movie or television is at conventionally acceptable levels. 

Woofer

The CALLISTO 6 C includes two custom 6½" woofers that take linearity and low loss to a whole new level. By fully controlling the signal path, from source to driver, the DALI acoustics team has been able to elevate audio reproduction beyond conventional loudspeakers.

Each element of the CALLISTO woofer is optimized to work in perfect balance with the integrated amplifier, so the sound scene created is rich in detail, temporally coherent and effortlessly immersive. The result is that the music is played just as the artist intended.

DALI has used all its experience in the development of the OPTICON and RUBICON woofers – as well as many hours of listening – to optimize the magnetic motor to take it to its maximum. With this knowledge, the Danes have achieved a symmetrical and very linear suspension within the area of ​​the voice coil and the membrane, limiting themselves to taking control and reducing the movement of the membrane at the most remote excursion points.

The extra linearity achieved by both the voice coil and the spider itself manifests a reduction in mechanical reduction and less stress on the amplifier, leading to greater detail and a better defined soundstage.

SMC

CALLISTO 6C woofers benefit from the use of SMC in the magnetic piece. When used in the motor system of a speaker, they achieve a significant reduction in distortion due to mechanical loss. SMC's unique ability to offer high magnetic conductivity and low electrical conductivity offers the quality needed for a really good speaker magnet while getting rid of its usual drawbacks.

As a result of these optimizations and especially thanks to the use of SMC, CALLISTO 6C benefits from an extremely agile woofer, with good performance and very light weight, which when working together with the amplifier is capable of offering a powerful acoustic signal, coherent in timing and rich in details.

Hybrid tweeter

The DALI hybrid tweeter module has been optimized specifically for CALLISTO 6C. It combines the dome tweeter with a ribbon tweeter for amazing high-frequency performance and high dispersion that surpasses all other tweeter technologies.

The dome membrane is very soft and ultra light, as well as so thin that it requires varnishing to keep all the material together and uniform during manufacturing. At DALI they have optimized the magnetic system to maximize the flux saturation in the voice coil. This optimization together with the use of an ultra-thin magnetic fluid for cooling achieves better control, supported power and marginal distortion.

The ribbon, part of the hybrid tweeter module, is of the magneto-static type. Four bands of conductive material make up the active diaphragm, controlled by a powerful magnetic field created around it. The ribbon tweeter is the master of wide dispersion and, together with the soft dome, a tweeter module is achieved that can be used as low as 2.0 kHz and continues to reproduce perfectly up to over 30 KHz. This extreme bandwidth together with ultra-wide dispersion is an important characteristic of the DALI acoustic signature.

Amplifier

Designing the best active speaker in its class is the sum of several achievements. One, really important one, is the amplifier, or more specifically, the amplification module. Any quality amplification module consists of three parts of equal importance that need to be designed to work in perfect harmony: the amplifier itself, the PSU and the signal processing. The signal processing and PSU input to the amplifier circuitry must be strictly adhered to the needs of the amplifier. Only in this way can amplification without coloration, without distortion and coherent be achieved.

Being capable of offering 250W for up to five seconds, which is enough power to ensure more acoustic pressure than necessary even in complex musical passages or cinematic explosions.

Housing

In DALI's large joinery factory in Denmark, the firm precisely cuts the MDF panels for the CALLISTO 6 C casings, ensuring their high quality and then applying the vinyl.

The CALLISTO 6 C cases are made from solid 25mm MDF, and feature a very solid construction with internal supports for reinforcement. This achieves a rigidity and density that practically eliminates the resonance of the casing. At the same time, great care has been taken not to reduce the internal volume of the case unnecessarily.

The assembly of the drivers and the final tests of each speaker are carried out individually, also directly by DALI in its Danish factory.

Thanks to the brand's strict control over every aspect of production, CALLISTO achieves a level of quality and finish normally only found in devices in a much higher price range.
