The Darwin Audio Architecture is our new in-house developed high-resolution audio processing architecture; Greatly improving traditional R2R technology, it incorporates a series of studio-quality functions, such as linearity compensation for R2R network, adjustable FIR filter, harmonic controller, NOS/OS switch, etc. in a highly portable device. 

Theflexible architecture is fully adjustable internally, providing endless possibilities for the evolution of this model and the next.

NOS mode has no oversampling, resulting in a raw response to signal changes; OS mode adapts to the various additional functionalities of the Darwin architecture, making custom adjustments to sound qualities to suit different headphones and different tastes.

The Darwin architecture is capable of up to 16x upsampling, with a variety of AA filters suitable for various design objectives, e.g. phase linearity, high fidelity; alsoadaptable to thecharacteristics of different headphones, guaranteeing the suitability of the RS2 to all types of headphones.

Double precision crystal oscillators at 45.185 MHz/49.152 MHz effectively reduce phase noise and jitter to -140 dBc/Hz at 1 kHz offset.

Using current mode amplification, the output stage amplifies current through an OPA1652 and an LPF consisting of 2x OPA1612, delivering high, clean input voltage and current to the output stage for exemplary transient and dynamic response. Together with 2 flagship-class OPA1622 amplifier chips, 4 independent channels of current mode headphone amplification and the NJW1195A professional digital volume controller, the circuit ensures maximum output-to-input fidelity and maximum control over the headphone drivers.

The 8x MQA display offers a playback of the original performance alongside the master tapes, transporting you into the same room as the artists!

MQA (Master Quality Authenticated) is an award-winning audio technology that allows music fans to stream the original master recording into their home in the highest quality possible. The MQA file is fully authenticated, backwards compatible, and small enough to stream, so you can play MQA on any compatible device. Wherever there is audio, MQA delivers the best sound.

Inheriting the high configurability of other HiByOS devices, the RS2 can be used as a USB DAC (e.g. playing computer/smartphone audio), but also as output to other USB DACs (e.g. output audio from the RS2 to other USB DACs), and even output your audio as digital coaxial/line-out signals.

With slots for *2* micro SD cards, it supports storage of up to 4 TB and simultaneous use of both cards.
