Condenser microphones, as well as a wide variety of preamps, DI boxes and other audio equipment, require phantom power to operate. P1 provides a very convenient and affordable solution when phantom power is not available. The P1 is powered by an internal lithium battery and a full charge can power a high-current condenser microphone for up to 40 hours. It takes between 2.5 and 3 hours to charge the P1 from any 5V USB power source. A row of LEDs on the front of the power supply indicates how much charge remains. The P1 is robustly built in a small and incredibly stylish black painted metal casing that weighs just 145g. Thanks to high-quality components and circuitry, this power supply is ultra-low noise and delivers pure power without compromising with any technical weaknesses the quality of tone our microphone is capable of delivering. The P1's built-in battery not only eliminates the hassle and limitations of having to connect to a power source, but it also eliminates the possibility of ground loops in our signal by keeping the electrical circuits isolated. That said, the unit can also operate while connected to power.
