Description

It's a choice between a warm sound presentation (triodes), or a wideband one (ultra-linear). Most integrated amplifiers and preamplifiers use solid-state operational-type devices to power the headphone output, and separate headphone stages vary greatly in quality. Headphones are, quite simply, small dot speakers that require less power to make them work. Some amplifiers use a small output valve for this, but this is not enough for some of the most difficult to amplify headphones. On the other hand, there are other amplifier proposals – some costing 5,000 dollars, or even more – that feature more powerful valves for this task, but then use a voltage divider network to reduce the power to acceptable levels for the headphones. That's what we do. Quite simply, we take advantage of the fact that we build the best integrated amplifiers on the market and there is no longer any need to purchase a separate headphone stage.
